Dear Mr. Tayac,

I wanted to write for quite some time to thank you for your work in my defense this past spring. While I was not acquitted of charges, I was impressed with your diligence and performance on my case.

You told me from the start that a jury trial was impossible to predict and that my odds of winning were below 50% but still “good” in comparison to other DUI cases that might go to court in the county I was arrested in. In fact, your candid transparent communication of facts and perspective was exemplary and enabled me to understand and make informed decisions throughout the process.

I knew your law firm was more expensive than others but as I worked with you and watched you work on my case and present in court, I knew I had made the right choice. As we saw cases come up before mine and I watched other attorneys who were unprepared I was shocked. Needless to say I was happy that this was not the case with my attorney. Throughout the process, you were always a few steps ahead of protocol and more than once, corrected mistakes by the prosecution.

Not only you but your entire staff were clearly more professional and knowledgeable than those we faced. Your investigator, Mr. McCann, and your Toxicologist, Ms. Weingarten, were top notch. Alan helped me understand the gravity of the situation and the need for exact details in recollections with the manner in which he interviewed me early on. During the trial I was impressed as well when you and he revisited the scene to clarify observations and take measurements. Ms. Weingarten was impressive as well. Except for the solemn situation, it was comical how far superior Ms. Weingarten’s subject matter was to that of the prosecution’s expert. Indeed, when you cross examined the prosecutions experts, I felt sorry for them.

After the trial as well, I appreciated your perspective and advice. Despite my loss in this case, I can say I am satisfied with this experience overall. I have no doubt that I engaged the best talent and proceeded in the best way throughout this. Having done that, I can move forward with no regrets about the money or time I spent and simply leave this behind me.
